Rachel Lipschitz-Levy will focus on 3 main products which Google has to offer to help charities & nonprofits reach & engage supporters, improve operations & raise awareness for their cause. These are the Google Grants program, the YouTube for nonprofits program and Google Apps for Nonprofits.
Rachel joined Google in Jan 2006 when the operation in Israel initially began. She leads Google's nonprofit initiatives in Israel including the Google Grants program and the upcoming YouTube for nonprofits program. Rachel is also a YouTube & Display Sales Specialist for Google Israel.
YouTube plays a major role in Honest Reporting's strategy. Alex Margolin, the Social Media Editor at HonestReporting, will show how HonestReporting uses video on YouTube. He will discuss how their use of video on YouTube has become a primary tool having evolved over the past three years and what they are trying to achieve with it now.
Alex Margolin joined HonestReporting in 2007. He is responsible for HR's Internet marketing strategy, as well as its presence on Facebook and Twitter. He is also part of HR's editorial team responsible for the organization's overall content. With over 150,000 subscribers, HR is the world's largest media monitoring watchdog dealing with anti-Israel bias.
Please note that Google's nonprofit programs are restricted. NPOs must apply and be approved to take advantage of these added and complimentary services. Google nonprofit services are not available to religious or political organizations. Also, at this time, YouTube's Nonprofit program is only available to US organizations (including American friends organizations). While the nonprofit programs are restricted, any organization can use YouTube, Adwords, Google Apps and other services as a regular user if they do not qualify for the special nonprofit programs.

Jerusalem Web Professionals (JWP) was started in August 2007 as a professional networking group for (you guessed it) Jerusalem Web Professionals. We range in skills and experience including some veteran pioneers to newbies and include all professions (developers, marketers, designers, site owners, etc.). Some people work independently, some work in small businesses while others are employees at leading companies. The main purpose of the group is to raise the level of education and practice for industry professionals in Jerusalem and to have regular Internet-technology related events in Jerusalem. We meet approximately once a month and try to invite speakers who will interest the diverse audience. Past speakers have included experts in Search Engines, the Semantic Web, SEO, Blogging, Social Media, Outsourcing, Online Entrepreneurs, Marketing, Virtual Worlds, development frameworks, CMSs, etc.
You can visit our Facebook group and LinkedIn group to learn more about who we are and to join in the conversation.
